Open role
HR Head — India Capability Centre
A European engineering group establishing its first India centre
- LOCATION Bengaluru, Karnataka
- TYPE Permanent
- EXPERIENCE 14+ years
- REFERENCE VYS-GCC-007
A foundational appointment. The centre is in its first year and the HR function does not yet exist — this role builds it.
The successful candidate will be one of the first fifteen hires, and will be accountable for the people architecture that everything after is built on.
What you'll do
Responsibilities.
- Establish the HR function: policy, compliance, payroll partner selection
- Design levelling and banding that reconciles parent structure with the Indian market
- Own the hiring plan alongside the site head through the scale-up
- Build employer positioning for an organisation with no local brand recognition
- Advise the parent organisation on India-specific workforce realities
What we're looking for
Essential.
- 14+ years in HR, with experience of a GCC or captive centre build
- Strong grounding in Indian labour law and statutory compliance
- Demonstrable experience designing structure, not only administering it
- Credibility with a European or North American parent leadership team
Nice to have
- Engineering or manufacturing sector background
- Experience of a greenfield site rather than an established one
What this role offers
Why it's worth a conversation.
- Genuine greenfield scope — you are designing, not maintaining
- Direct reporting line to the site head and dotted line to group HR
- Influence over the centre's trajectory at the point where it still matters
How to apply
One step.
Send your CV quoting reference VYS-GCC-007. One of our founders reviews every application personally.
Your application is confidential. We will not share your details with the hiring organisation without discussing the role with you first.
